An inverted nipple is one that retracts in rather than pokes out. Surgical repair of inverted nipples is sometimes required.
Mastectomy
Mastectomy is the removal of the whole breast. There are five different types of mastectomy: “simple” or “total” mastectomy, modified radical mastectomy, radical mastectomy, partial mastectomy, and subcutaneous (nipple-sparing) mastectomy.
Oncoplastic Breast Surgery (Breast Reconstruction)
Oncoplastic Breast Surgery involves the reconstruction of the breast following the removal of the breast (mastectomy). This can be done either during the initial operation or subsequently as a separate surgery.
Subcutaneous (Nipple-Sparing) Mastectomy
The removal of all the breast tissue under the skin of the breast is called a subcutaneous mastectomy.
